REALLY RED: A small slideshow of bright red vehicles spotted while out and about in Nailsea and nearby - from sporty kit car to fully restored farm tractor and the newest are pedal go-karts at Noah's Ark zoo farm. Although the summer holiday Farmula One attraction does have some racing green four-wheelers too. You can read more on our Noah's Ark page HERE and we still have our poor parking page HERE and we sent out reviewers Laura and Trudi with their children to test drive the activities on offer at the newly reopened We the Curious. Read what they thought HERE. On The Road page you will find the latest on the fiasco about the roadworks and diversions this summer affecting X7, X8 and X9 buses and why an alternative route could not be found HERE.
North Somerset Council has to find sites for 23,805 new homes in the next 15 years.
Following the launch of consultation on the government’s proposed planning reforms, North Somerset Council is reviewing its draft Local Plan and going back to the drawing board.
Government’s planning reforms have major implications for any Local Plan and the council is having to accommodate nearly 9,000 dwellings more than the initial target.
And it will have to talk to neighbouring councils and take into account vast swathes of land in flood plains.

Work is set to finish this month on the new Livro Lounge which is due to open seven days a week from Wednesday, August 14.
Builders have been busy all summer behind the metal barriers and up roof high scaffolding converting the old library into a neighbourhood café/bar at Somerset Square.
They have been fitting new windows, making repairs and adding a new entrance which is going next to the Coffee Corner steps.
Staff have already been recruited and are currently training at nearby Lounge establishments.
The Nailsea menus are published here https://thelounges.co.uk/livro/ and opening hours will be Sunday-Thursday 9am-11pm and Friday-Saturday 9am- midnight.
In July Ritorno Lounge opened at Bristol Harbourside in the old Pitcher and Piano.
Lounges was founded in 2002 by a trio friends, Dave Reid, Alex Reilley and Jake Bishop.
There is a Lounge at Clevedon and Portishead and nearly 230 nationwide all serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, kids, gluten-free and vegan dishes, as well as a vast array of drinks, catering to foodies with different tastes throughout each day.
The Loungers typical eclectic interior fashion once graced The Battleaxes at Wraxall so expect quirky when we finally get to see inside.

And at the beginning of September work is due to start converting a Nailsea charity shop into a new wine bar.
But there have been a few hiccups.
Initially North Somerset Council environmental protection team was objecting to turning Break charity shop in the High Street into an upmarket wine bar.
Despite Nailsea Town Council having no concerns the public health and regulatory services department based at Weston town hall initially did – lots.
It was querying the change-of-use status, noting its proximity to residential properties, worries about refuse storage and waste collection, ventilation system, delivery noise, kitchen odours and people leaving the bar making a noise.
There was also a query about the lack of an outside smoking area and in an email asked for clarification on whether the application had used the correct Class E or Sui Generis status.
Nailsea Town Council assistant clerk Stephen Holley said: "I think the application actually is for change of use – rather than one of those applications to determine whether or not a change-of-use is needed.
"Our planning committee had no objection to the proposal."
Owners Geoff and Julie Downing hope all will be shipshape and ready to open before Christmas.
Julie said: “Planning seems to be going very well - we have addressed all concerns raised by the environmental protect team - the case officer is happy and he is excellent and has a real ‘can do’ attitude - we had to amend one of our drawings so that has added time to consultation period so we feel very positive that we will gain approval on Friday, August 23.
“We plan to start work on the property at the beginning of September and all being well be open by the beginning of December.”
Nailsea People is hoping the flat roof will become a living roof to add to the streetscene.
